One week into the season (as I write) and both Palmer C.D. Wooglin and I are destroyed. The opening game loss to UNH has been the cue for the heaping of much abuse upon my poor head. Living just 12 miles from the UNH campus and being somewhat notoriously pro-Green I've managed to alienate a good number of the locals, and they are really getting their licks in now. Dartmouth doesn't play UNH again until 1976 - it will be a long three years.
Bill Affolter recently renewed contact, having returned East briefly after finishing his Public Health Service tour of duty in Alaska. His next assignment, which he has taken up by now, is in Spokane.
Bill and I and others all want to know: Ed Keible, where are you?
Wes Townsend is making quite a name for himself as an amateur photog. He's been a multiple winner in the Kodak International Snapshot Contest, and is very active in local camera clubs in his hometown of Cranbury, N.J. Wes has a doctorate in analytical chemistry from the University of Florida and is a chemist at Western Electric's Engineering Research Center in Hopewell, N.J.
Our class has its first blacksmith (that I know of) in the person of Ron Lewis, who is pursuing his craft in Northwood, N.H. Ron had given teaching a whirl, but two and a half years ago he traded in his chalk and eraser for the smithy's tools, and he is a happy man. He works as a craftsman and his repertoire does not include shoeing horses.
Jerry Putnam is now a major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. Jerry received his medical training at Tufts and Georgetown University Hospital.
Sad news from Eugene, Ore., where MarkWallin was killed in the crash of a small plane in early September. Mark had just established a practice in periodontics in Eugene, having completed his studies at Boston University's School of Graduate Dentistry in May. He leaves his wife Kathy and a son Kristopher (6 months).
That's all for now. I would welcome hearing from you to help fill these pages. In the meantime, happy days and peace.
