You BOYS who did not come to the last meeting held at the Americus Hotel in Allentown really missed something.

First of all, Andy Marshall '22 thanked the group for our action in nominating him for election to the Alumni Council. Then we heard from "Os" Skinner 'aB who is on the advisory council for erecting the new cabin at Moosilauke. He described the cabin, which is a humdinger, and then showed us two reels of color movies projected only once before at a preview in New York. The movies showed childrens' ski classes in Hanover, and various adult skiing scenes, which illustrated superb technique.

Finally we listened to an informal talk by Basil O'Connor '12 of New York City. Doc, you may recall, was the principal speaker in Hanover on Dartmouth Night. He spoke on various problems of the College telling us first, that the alumni council and the trustees aid in no small way to make Dartmouth a great college. We then heard a rather detailed description of the Dartmouth Center project. The Dartmouth Center will be more than a place to assemble the entire student body and faculty. Each summer a festival will be held in Hanover and the center will be the hub for a circle of the best in dramatics, music and art. Each group will hold full sway for a short period of about two weeks.

The Center will have the finest theatre in New England, in addition to work rooms, lounges, and a smaller theatre. Such things as acoustics specifically, and building plans generally, have been checked by the best engineers from Hollywood to New York.

In conclusion, he spoke of a problem which is confronting all colleges today. That problem is to turn out a man who is head and shoulders above the average non-college man; for on any controversial subject the average non-college man is equal to the average college trained graduate.

The "Allentown Call" sent a reporter and photographer to the meeting, and on Saturday morning printed a group picture of Doc O'Connor 'is, Jim Rick '30, Andy Marshall '22, and Walt Bowlby '27 with an appropriate story.

The following men were to be seen around the festive table: Kingsbury Badger '29, Walt Bowlby '27, Louis Ekstrom '12, Bud Erdman '37, Rog Graves '37, Shorty Gray '19, Lee "Philco" Jamison '25, Val Klopp '09, Fred Roller '36, "Andy" Marshall '22, Guy Mehlhorn '37, Jim Rick '31, Milt Shultz '30, Bob Simonds '25, "Os" Skinner '28, and Eugene Chase '16.
