On June 18 Florence Jackson announced the engagement of Jane to Richard R. Hough, a Princeton man living in Trenton, New Jersey. Dick Hough is a fine chap (an Olympic swimmer, Phi Beta Kappa), Sigma Xi (already holding a graduate degree from his university), and is now engaged in electrical research work.

Matt Bullock Jr. graduated from Bowdoin June 15th with loads of honors, to the great satisfaction of Matt, whom we excused from attending reunion at Hanover.

Aldrich wrote in July that after three years as pastor of the First Methodist Church at Woonsocket, Rhode Island, he has moved to Fall River, Mass. to become pastor in a new church formed by the uniting of a Baptist and a Methodist church in the same community. Does such community cooperation tend to broaden and strengthen the general social and home life in the community, Oscar?

Robbie writing from San Francisco Sept. 13th, said "I called on Freddy Root and was fortunate enough to find him in his office at about 4.30 P.M. It had been my belief that he appeared at the first tee at about a P.M. every day. Fred looked like a million dollars and is the same affable gentleman he always was. It was a great treat to have fifteen minutes with him. He told me Sid Rollins appeared here last year practically covered with shingles. After seeing Fred I called on Pen Mowers brother who runs a fine stamp store opposite the Palace Hotel, where he sells rare philatelic items to collecters, and he told me Sid Rollins appeared here last year practically covered with shingles. I hadn't known be' fore that Sid got west of Denver with his shingles, but evidently he made several appearances on the Pacific Coast and he ma) have given exhibitions at the usual one night stands along the Santa Fe on his wa; home. Old Sid the Shingle King! Instea 0f suffering silently and selfishly he gave others the pleasure of seeing his usual handsome Roman countenance disfigured for the nonce by the manifestation of Herpes. I am greatly disappointed that lack of time prevents my seeing Wayne Perkins, Ed Mac Lennan, Harry Morse, Lester Gibson, Jack Belknap, Bucky Benner, A 1 Hill and Mayer Sharpe, but there hasn't been time to see Sally Rand at the Fair, so visits with others is a pleasure I've had to forego this time." There's an important question here for Class action Shall we send our roving Ambassador Rollins on his next sood-will-tour Shingled or Plastered?

Murray Parker is president of the Benj. H Sanborn Cos., with a business address at 131 Clarendon Street, Boston. Bob Mosely is now living at 197 Beacon Street—same town—Lucky Boston to have these men added to its Dartmouth Alumni.

Squid Lampees Marshfield Webster party attended by Gene, Beck and Sex was a great success, so great that the Cambridge branch of the grapevine system has already reported that they were obliged to seek aid, if you know what I mean, from some generous and sympathetic John Harvards.

ANOTHER GRANDFATHER

A new light weight champion Lawrence T. Herman Jr., weighing in at 714 pounds, arrived in Chicago the 28th of September. Fifteen minutes after his arrival Grand- daddy Earl had this news on the way hop- ing to qualify for some honorarium that may accrue to the grandfather group. Many of you will remember Earl's son who was with us at our reunion luncheon in the Vale of Tempe in 1934. Larry Junior's mother is the daughter of John-10-Dingle, our congratulations to her. Earl says "Seeing that he has two Dartmouth grandpar- ents I look for him to make the All America at Dartmouth about 1960." I might add, considering recent results, that he is 20 years late—we need all America Calibre NOW."

We must have an accurate census this fa 11.... forty years ago we began life together. .. .and learn of our progress in multiplication.... the rabbit kind I mean .... so we may know how many victims we are providing for the tax collectors in the next half century.

Charles and Mrs. Tubbs announced the marriage of their daughter Barbara Helena to Frederic Augustus Lovell Jr., on the twenty-first of September at Bath, Maine.

Friday evening October nth Eleanor Lothrop Lampee became the bride of Mr. Charles Waring Butler. The ceremony attended by the immediate families was at the Church of the Epiphany in Winchester. Rev. Dwight W. Hadley read the marriage lines. A reception followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lampee. Mr. Butler attended Bowdoin where he was a member of Psi U. ... .Congratulations Squid on bringing this good fraternity influence into a Theta Delt family.
