THE DARTMOUTH CLUB of Cleveland commenced its regular weekly luncheon meetings, held each Saturday at The Mid Day Club, on September 28. President Harris '17 outlined the plans for the coming year to a small but enthusiastic group and we are looking forward to a great deal from the younger men this year.
Activity during the summer consisted mainly of our joint annual get together with the local Cornell group for an afternoon of golf, croquet, fishing, cards and the annual soft ball game between picked teams of the two groups. Again this year the Dartmouth group was able to best the Cornellians with a fine 9th inning rally and hold the loving cup for another year. A fine dinner was held in the evening and prizes were awarded for distinguished athletic prowess and other feats. The whole affair was most ably handled by our risln g young obstetrician, Cliff Vogt '3O, between confinements.
Plans for the fall include several wires and broadcasts of the Big Green in action climaxed by a joint broadcast and dance saturday, November 16 with the Cornell group, for the benefit of our mutual scholarship funds. Heinie Bourne '23 has this affair well under control at the present Anting.
we are particularly glad to welcome about twenty-five new men from the class of 1940 into our group and hope to see all of them at our meetings in the near future, Any of you men from out of town passing through or stopping off in Cleveland for the week-end have a standing invitation to become one of us at The Mid Day Club any Saturday from noon on.
