IT is APPARENT from the experience of the past few months that the deadline for this column is just a week or two too soon. It would be a great service to those who were unable to attend the annual banquet February 19 to tell what happened before the news was broadcast through other channels. However, the deadline for this issue was February 10, and the banquet was still but a plan at that time.

The program for the banquet was one of the most outstanding in several years. President Hopkins was the man of the evening; it is scarcely necessary to say that it is always a special occasion when he comes to Chicago. Our chief regret is that we are not closer geographically to Hanover so that we might have more frequent visits from the President. But when he comes, the Chicago alumni turn out in legions to see and hear him. Accompanying the President was A1 Dickerson '30 who also has many friends in Chicago.

Arrangements were made before the banquet to group men of the same class at the same table. According to information received a week ahead, almost every class was to be represented, and there was some rivalry as to which might have the largest attendance.

This was the last meeting for President Mike Watkins '24 who turned his official robes and his gavel over to the incoming president. The nominating committee had selected the new slate of officers as follows: president, Gene Hotchkiss '22; vice president, Bill Morton '32; treasurer, Bob Maxwell '23; and secretary, Don Wood '33. Two new members of the executive committee were also selected: Modie J Spiegel '22, and Don McKinlay '37.

Plans have been under way for a Glee Club concert and dance sometime early in April while the musical clubs are on tour. This is something to keep in mind. No definite date has been set, but announcement will be made later.
