A. H. Ross, now in his 79th year, was oldest alumnus at the last meeting of the North Shore Dartmouth Association. His son, Albion '29, is in eastern Asia as foreign correspondent of the San FranciscoChronicle.
Mrs. Emerson writes: "I am happy to say we are all quite well. Muriel is busy with her teaching in the Pasadena Junior College. My son and his family are well and busy too." Her address has changed to 995 Old Mill Road, Pasadena, Calif.
Mrs. Gardner writes: "We are all well and my five children are a joy to me. My oldest daughter came near death last summer. I send the family greetings to you and other members of '87."
Rogers' wife sends word: "Doctor is greatly missed in this community and one and all say we will never have another physician like him. Remember me kindly to any of the '87 men who may recall me."
Mrs. Bartlett was called to Japan last April by the illness of her mother. She remained during the summer and returned with her last fall. In a long letter from Pasadena (Nov. 12) she retails her experiences and contacts with may of Sam's form er pupils. "I met a great many fine people, and though I don't pretend to understand the situation I feel as close to Japan as ever. One of the most interesting experiences I had was visiting Gen. Araki in his home and having a two hours' talk. There is not much I can pass on, but it gave me a more comfortable feeling about things."
The secretary found Cushman, A. H. Ross and Sanborn enjoying their usual health.
Stanley contributes the following: Sydney Junkins has as usual attended all the football games, with an entourage that has brought its customary twitter of sensation, as it traversed the way to seats. Sydney says the Brown game is the best one of the season, as viewed from a professional analyst. He has at last been persuaded to spend a considerable period of the winter in Florida. He refuses to go earlier than January, for during his long life he has never been out of New England on New Year's day. He will probably be located at Winter Park "Rooster" Johnson arrived at Clearwater, Fla., December 13. He is located as last year, at 1230 Reynolds Ave.
