At our Reunion in June it seemed mighty good to see Jacquith who has been unable to attend Reunions for many years. The Commencements at Talledega College where he was located coincided with those at Dartmouth so that he was unable to attend. He is now retired and living at Union Village, Vermont.
About a month ago Hike Eldred sent your Secretary a newspaper clipping containing a notice of the death of Eddie Johnson at Spokane, Washington on June 16th. Eddie prepared for College at the Nashua High School and was a classmate of Billy Harris and your Secretary. He did considerable engineering work in the East before going West and after that was in the real estate business until he became office manager for a large coal concern in Spokane. His obituary appears in the Necrology section of this issue.
Your Secretary has just returned from a two-weeks trip in the Dead River region in Northern Maine. His camp was located near the foot of Grand Falls where the trout and salmon are plentiful if you can land them. We landed sufficient for the party to eat which is considerable when one considers the wonderful appetites that we had.
For some time Hike Eldred has been looking for a country home and on his return from the Reunion found just what he wanted in the town of Lime Rock, Conn. Hike writes that he has fourteen acres of land well timbered and a nice house with a roaring water fall near by. He has spent the summer making repairs on the place to suit his requirements. Your Secretary envies Hike the fun that he must have had in fixing the place over to suit his desires.
