DARTMOUTH COLLEGE WAS host on October 7 and 8 to eleven New England college presidents and a distinguished company of deans and faculty leaders at the 83rd meeting of the Association of Colleges in New England. President Hopkins presided over three closed sessions, which were devoted largely to problems of higher education and defense.
College presidents in attendance included fames B. Conant of Harvard, Charles Seymour of Yale, Henry M. Wriston of Brown, Paul C. Packer of Vermont, Kenneth C. M. Sills of Bowdoin, Paul I). Moody of Middlebury, Stanley King of Amherst, Remsen B. Ogilby of Trinity, James L. McConaughy of Wesleyan, Leonard Carmichael of Tufts, and Daniel L. Marsh of Boston University.
Dean Halfdan Gregersen of Williams and Dean Homer P. Little of Clark University represented their institutions. In addition to President Hopkins, Dartmouth's representatives were Dean E. Gordon Bill and Dean Lloyd K. Neidlinger '23.
