AMONG THE SEVEN DEFENSE COURSES Approved by the Committee on Defense Instruction of the College and opened for election for the first time this fall, is "Components of Democratic Thought" taught by a group of the faculty. Arthur M. Wilson, professor of biography, is the head of the new course and describes its objectives (page 9). Much interest has been expressed in other colleges and among our alumni in Dartmouth's move to give strength through the new course to the thoughtful faith of undergraduates in democracy.
