PAUL W. LOUDON, self-styled "Voice fromthe Sticks," takes issue with Securities6- Exchange Commissioner at Washingtonhearings on compulsory competitive bidding. Loudo?i was one of scores of small security dealers from all over the countrywho expressed strong opposition to government compelled bidding.

"A voice from the sticks" reminded theSEC that current attacks upon securitiesdealers were not always customary.

Mr. Loudon of Minneapolis interruptedhis more serious testimony and returned tohis fighting Ail-American days at Dartmouth to say to Commissioner Robert E.

Healy:"As a voice from the sticks, I resent yourremarks about the blandishments of bondsalesmen in past years.

"I can remember back in 1917 and 1918when the Government was damn glad tohave us use our blandishments to sell Liberty bonds."

When the roar of laughter died down,Commissioner Healy commented that hesold war stamps.
