A card from Harry Allen contained the information that he had inquired about Edmund Cook at his former residence south of Hanover and was informed by a neighbor that Cook had died in Pennsyl- vania. Through Miss Ford in the Alumni Records Office this report was confirmed but details were lacking. All that could be learned was that Cook passed away February 21, at the home of his niece, the wife of Philip R- Chase, 1918, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania where he had been living after the death of his sister, Mrs. Goold, with whom he had made his home south of Hanover.

Edmund Curley Cook, the son of George Cook and Anne Curley, was born in Vershire, Vermont, October 9, 1868. He prepared for Dartmouth at Thetford Academy, received his A.B. at Dartmouth in 1892, A.B. at Harvard in 1894, and A.M. at Dartmouth in 1900. He taught mathematics for a number of years at the College of the City of New York, until 1918, then at St. Stephens College. In 1920 he operated Camp Kokosing at Ely, Vermont.

During the years he lived with his sister, Cook spent his time reading and gardening. Always of a modest, retiring nature, he was not often seen in Hanover. He was a man of sterling character, loyal to '92 and the college, and a regular contributor, from his meager income, to the Alumni Fund.

A brief note from Artie Strong states that all is well with him and Alice in Florida where they have been enjoying relief from the rigors of New England winter weather.
