From far, far away and from long, long ago comes the voice of Noah Sprafkin, who sent an e-mail to me that he said was his first update since we walked away from campus on graduation day.
Now comes my favorite part: "Fairly soon after I arrived, I met a wonderful woman, and after an interesting and at times harrowing courtship we got married in October." Harrowing? Noah, I gotta know more.
Peay Vineyards, co-owned by Andy Peay and his brother Nick. From the sounds of it, things ain't always easy, but the guys are making a go of it and having success. Great to hear!
While up in Hanover with the Penn men's basketball team, I was able to sit down for lunch (at EBA's, of course) with my predecessor in this position, Jessie Levine—wow, how long ago was that? Jessie is the town manager in New London, New Hampshire, and said that having Dartmouth credentials goes a long way with some of the otherwise curmudgeonly older generation in that area. (Any of you guys who read this magazine...those are my words, not hers. She loves you guys!)
Jessie seems to be connecting better with Dartmouth people than me. During the fall she did a long weekend in Hanover with several other '92s—lest I miss anyone, I am going to refrain from naming names, so she can give me a full list for the next set of notes—and two days after I saw her she sent word that Ashley O'Neill Kleiderer and her husband, Karl, had a third child, Natalie Elizabeth, on February 13. Natalie joins older brothers Nick and Connor in Charlotte, North Carolina.
