No doubt every class for the last 25 years feels that it has some niche in the mind of President Hopkins. This is no doubt true but I wonder if he doesn't have a special place for the class whose start coincided with his advent as President. I'm sure we're proud of that fact. As you all know special recognition of the 25th anniversary of President Hopkins administration of the College will be the central theme of this years Alumni Fund campaign. Moreover, the entire total received will be turned over to President Hopkins for such use as he feels most important to the College. Here's our chance to show him that his first class recognizes all that he has done during these 25 years. Let's give all the coopera- tion possible to A 1 Frey and his committee

—A1 Cate, Fred Hamm, Pete Potter, Norm Richardson, Ted Weis and Abe Winslow. The postmaster of Mount Vernon. (N. Y.) recently received some very important "heir mail" in the form of a son. Yes sir, at long last Gene Fiske is a papa, Donald Randel having arrived on March 30.

And speaking of things nuptial here are a couple of items;

On April 5, Jim Chilcott married Ruth Harkney. The event took place at the Milwaukee Country Club and from usually reliable sources we have it that Chilly is the one getting the breaks.

On March 16, at Akron, Ohio, Miss Frances Carothers became the bride of Almus Russell. Mrs. Almus attended Oberlin College and was formerly secretary to the Dean of Yale Divinity School. As we know Almus is head of the English Department at Dakota Wesleyan University.

A. M. Kidder & Cos. have announced that John E. Hill has been appointed Manager of their Rutland, (Vt.) office. Who is John Hill? Well it's our "Buttons."

"I was very much impressed with the ability and fairness of the chairman of the labor committee, Sherman Adams, a Dartmouth graduate and a timberland manager." This from the News-Letter column of Repr. Pennell in the Concord, N. H. Monitor. We were aware of these characteristics but it's nice to see it in public print.

Florida vacations: The Pat Tobins, Hersh Chandlers, Jerry Stones and Stan Newcomers. The latter is now manager of all sales for Consolidated Paper Cos. with the title, "Vice president and General Manager of Sales."

As usual Charlie McGoughran has seen or heard about plenty of 'go's—dinner with Laddie Meyers in Chicago and learned that Don MacKaye had passed the Illinois bar exams and that Don McLeran and Nate Whiteside are thriving in suburban Chicago. Dinner with Navy track coach Earl Thomson in N. Y. Relative to this Charlie says "Incidentally, a dinner meeting of several members of our class including Jerry Stone, Warrie Chamberlain, Dan Bender, Tom Davidson, as well as Tommy and myself, missed fire when Tommy and I gathered in the Cocktail Lounge of the Pennsylvania Hotel while the rest of the crowd waited for us in the Bar. We never did get together."

The Maine chapter of the Committee to Defend America by Aiding the Allies is going great guns under the leadership of the Executive Secretary, Paul Richter. A clipping from a Bangor newspaper shows Paul conferring with local bigwigs. However, Paul found time to discuss Hanover past and present with the superintendent of schools, our Art Pierce.

TUCK SCHOOL NOTES

John Felli elected Manager of the Tuck School Alumni in N. Y.; John and Hike Newell were recent lecturers; Walk Fielding and A1 Frey attended a Tuck School Clearing House dinner in Boston presided over by A 1 Cate. The latter in addition to his many avocations is No. 2 man of the Needham Community Fund (No. 1 man next year) and President of the Needham P. T. A.

Ted Weis reports having seen Nate Whiteside and Craig Sheaffer within the last few months.

Roc Elliot writes: "Our annual spring dinner and dance at the University Club in Boston on March 15 th was not as heavily attended as last year. However, the following with their wives dined well and danced better—lvitfield, Dorney, Macomber, Bernkopf, Elliot, Sullivan, Buschman, Crathern and Paul Richter (without).

"Raynor Hutchinson, one of Twenty's remaining competitive athletes, was playing in the semi-finals in the Badminton Tournament the same night. We took a look at Hutch playing this strenuous game and couldn't help feeling that he must lead a better life than the rest of us."
