Werner Janssen '2l, conductor and composer, who spends most of his time on his southern California ranch with his beauteous wife, Ann Harding of screen and stage fame, recently premiered in San Francisco a series of concerts by an ensemble of 40 distinguished musicians. His newest venture, which will take him all over the United States, is reported to have been launched with all the trimmings of a Hollywood opening.

At the San Francisco concert, Mr. Janssen used for the first time, and successfully, his own invention, the "symphoshell." An elaborate setting patterned after the harmonic rostrum of the Theatron Dionysion in Athens, it is made of especially treated wood and insures perfect accoustics, functioning independently of the accoustics of the hall in which the orchestra plays.
