JOHN VANDER PYL, v.p., American Ma- chine & Metals, is doing a whale of a pro- duction job out at Moline where he has charge of the company's factories. Under the constant pressure of increased produc- tion of huge machines for everything from centrifugals for smokeless powder to com- plete laundry equipment that goes to all corners of the globe, John's outfit has won commendations from Government officials more than once, the latest being the Army- Navy "E" awarded, interestingly enough, by Under Secretary of the Navy, James Forrestal, a one-time member of the Class of 1915 who transferred to Princeton.
TED HILL, 1910's Botanical expert at Har- vard, had an article published in the Uni- versity Leaflets, entitled "Recent Changes in the Name of Economic Plants."
CONGRATULATIONS TO HARRY MUDGETT On his appointment as General Employment Manager of International Silver Cos., Meri- den, Conn. Through a long period of years Harry, who started with the company as a cost accountant, has won promotion after promotion, advancing steadily, having been manager of the Meriden plant since 1934 .... he is an esteemed citizen of Strat- ford, Conn., where he has been a member of the School Board for six years .... has a daughter and two sons, one of whom is in the Army. The Class rejoices with Harry in his latest and biggest promotion.
