KENNETH HAMILTON '41 is with J. M. Mathes Advertising Agency; William C. Vaughan '40 has been appointed to the position of Special Agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Perley Merry '27 has recently been elected Vice-President of B. V. D. Company; Robert H. Kemp '30 is now with American Smelting and Refining Company at Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Carmelo Gugino Jr. '39 graduated from the Army Air Corps School at Turner Field, Georgia, on December 12. W. B. Potter '21 presided at one of the sessions at the 32nd annual convention of The Association of National Advertisers at Hot Springs, Va., in November.

Frederick A. Carroll, '09, Vice-President of the National Shawmut Bank, Boston, spoke at the School on January 8 on the subjects: "Investment Policies and Problems of a Bank Trust Department" and "Current Management Problems of a Commercial Bank." Thomas Armstrong, Director of Industrial Relations, Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company, Springfield, Massachusetts, spoke to the students on January 30.

Professors Duncombe, Woodworth, Gaa, Sargent, Olsen, Troxell and Frey attended the meetings of the Allied Social Sciences in New York City during the Christmas vacation. Professors Troxell and Duncombe addressed the meetings on the following topics respectively: "Protecting Member's Rights Within the Union" and "The Effect of Anticipated Population Changes Upon the Social Security Program of the United States."

William S. Cashel, Burton L. Hedin, Arit thus R. Hills and David C. Chamberlain of the second-year class and Lawrence K. Hennessy, Roland R. Hummel Jr. and John L. Williams of the first-year class have left to join the service.

Plans are proceeding to carry into effect an accelerated program of the School for the duration of the war. The summer session will begin about May 18, the first semester will end in September, and the year's work will be completed by Christmas.
