RECENT LECTURERS AT THE Tuck School have been Ralph E. Flanders, President, Jones and Lamson Machine Company; John J. Moore Jr., Principal Priorities Specialist, Consumers Durable Goods Branch, War Production Board; Cyrus S. Ching, National War Labor Board; and our own Nathaniel G. Burleigh, Chief, Service Industries and Office Equipment Branch, War Production Board.

On April go at exercises held jointly with the Thayer School, President Hopkins awarded the degree of Master of Commercial Science to the following men:

The degree of Master of Science in Business Administration and Engineering was awarded to J. A. Van Wie Jr., and C. W. Young, the first two students to complete the new Tuck-Thayer major. Mr. C. F. Goodrich of the Thayer School Board of Overseers and Dean Olsen spoke briefly.

On Tuesday, April 28, the second-year men and the faculty trekked to Bonnie Oaks on Lake Morey for the annual ballgame and picnic. An unusually hard-fought game resulted in two faculty casualties. On the following morning, Mr. Duncombe appeared with his arm in a sling and Mr. Edgar sported a new set of crutches. The score of the game is still in doubt. Several bystanders were heard to remark, however, that regardless of the numerical tally, the faculty won a tremendous moral victory.

Charles Gaa of the Tuck accounting department was elected "most popular professor" in the recent senior elections.

Early in April two well-attended meetings of Tuck alumni were held in Boston and New York. On the 14th, 55 graduates gathered at the Boston City Club to hear talks by Dean Olsen, Mr. Burleigh and Mr. Harriman. R. N. Wallis '30 and J. M. Fowler '38 were in charge of arrangements. Officers elected for the current year were: John Benson '32, chairman, and J. M. Fowler '38, secretary. On the 20th, over 40 alumni met at the Dartmouth Club in New York to hear Dean Olsen and Mr. Burleigh. Mr. Duncombe also represented the School. This meeting was chairmanned by J. C. Felli '23, with R. H. Berquist as secretary. New officers are O. H. Hicks '22, and R. M. Prentice '37.

Dean Olsen has completed his duties with the Civil Service Commission in Washington and is to be in Hanover for the rest of the year. On April 13 he addressed the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants at their annual educational night; the subject—"Public Accountants and the War Program; Some Problems and Responsibilities." Later in the month he at- tended the meetings of the American Association of Collegiate School of Business at Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Virginia, where he spoke on the topic, "Students and the War Effort in Relation to the Curricula" in a forum on "Adjust- ments in the Administration of Collegiate Business Training During War." He was re-elected secretary-treasurer of the association for 1942-43. Mr. Woodworth and Dean Olsen attended the sessions of the Academy of Political Science in New York City on April 8. Mr. Frey sat in at the meetings of the American Management Association in New York, May 13 and 14.

Mr. Harriman left the School for the duration at the end of the semester. He enlisted as a Captain in the Army Air Corps, and was stationed at Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Mr. John P. Troxell, who took the place of Mr. Feldman during his leave of absence, has accepted the position of Director of Training at the Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Co. in Baltimore.

The Third New Hampshire Bank Management Conference will be held at the School on June 5 and 6. The program this year includes eight topics covering bank management problems during wartime. All Tuck and Dartmouth men in the field of banking are invited to attend.
