February 1942 ELEAZAR CATE

The year 1942, we are told, is to be one of preparation tor the great victory to follow. So far as the Secretary knows our small group is fully prepared to help meet the issue with determination if not with the same vigor as 25 years ago.

The Secretary feels justified in saying that we are unanimous in our wish that the prayer offered by Pres. Hopkins in Rollins Chapel on Dec. 14 be made the official prayer of the College. If an "official cheer" why not an "official prayer."

We are wondering if Wallace C. Short, Commander of a destroyer at Manila is not the son of our Wallace and Maude? Please note that this is a question. Also note that in the Alumni Fund effort of 1941, '88 appeared in the "double star" improvement list, think this must be an honor! Another thing to be thankful for is the return of Rob Fairbanks and family to the home port, America. We know you enjoyed reading his epic in the Jan. issue.

The Christmas season brought 12 pleasant reminders that the class spirit is still rampant.

So, all in all we have much to be thankful for.
