THE HUNDRED ALUMNI and their guests, who attended the "Night at the Nugget" party at the University Club last month, not only had an enjoyable evening among Dartmouth friends, but also "kicked in" with sufficient funds to make this affair our most successful scholarship benefit. Nearly everyone won a prizefrom popcorn to a defense bond. Ace Miller '34, headed up the committee, assisted by Charlie Brown '35, at the projector, and Ralph Thomas '36, the treasurer, on the finances.

On December 31 the Association held its annual Christmas Luncheon for undergraduates and their fathers. This party was well attended by present Dartmouth students and local alumni. Al Bennett and Bill Ferguson represented the Freshman class; Roger Clark, Jack Hughes, Dick Silberstein and Bill Walters the Sophomore class; Jim Hooker the 1943 boys, and John Kelsey and Craig Kuhn, the Seniors. Craig Kuhn, the '42 Associate Editor of TheDartmouth brought us up to date on Dartmouth. His comments pertaining to curriculum adjustments and calendar changes made by the College to meet the present emergency were of particular interest. We also had with us several prospective students and three recent graduates, Jim Corner '40, Don Lade '41, and Stewart Steffey '41. Stewart leaves the Northwestern Life Insurance Company shortly to take up his commission with the United States Navy for active duty.

With many Alumni making changes in their positions during the present time, we wish to mention that the local Alumni Association meets weekly for luncheon. It is hoped those of you who have recently arrived in this section or are temporarily located in Pittsburgh will visit with us in the Oliver Building Restaurant any Wednesday at noon.
