I have enough news this month that I won't be able to even mention the upcoming reunion that is scheduled for June 14-17.

Baltimore Magazine did some research into the top pediatricians in their area and Alan Lake made the cut. (That would have been a nice pun if he were a surgeon). Alan spends three-quarters of his time with general pediatrics and the rest on gastroenterology. "Pediatrics," he says, "is a long-term investment. When you work with a family over the years, you gain each others trust. As the children get older, you have to gain their trust as well."

George Stauffer's latest book, Bach: The Massin BMinor, explores the music and complex history of Bach's last and possibly greatest master-piece. George is dean and professor of music history at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. He is the author or editor of four previous books on Bach.

Continuing in the professorial vein, Mark Sheetz (who used to be a regular at Homecoming), is an international security fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Haivard University. Mark left the world of corporate finance and earned his doctorate in political science at Columbia. He then spent several years of postdoctoral fellowships, including ones at Yale and Harvard. He taught at Wesleyan and Yale along the way. But now, the crowning achievement: Mark will be teaching two courses this spring at Dartmouth! Welcome home! This of course means that he will be in town for the reunion that I'm not going to mention.

Bob Robbins was giving some investment ad- vice in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution this past winter. Bob has worked for a variety of outfits over the years but now manages two hedge funds as Robbins Capital Management. Bob says that he tries to be creative and original and a contrar- ian." Don't do things the average way, find a bet- terway." Ifyou have visited any of 97 salad buffet restaurants named Souplantation or Sweet Tomatoes, then you are in Bob Gunst territory. Bob is now chairman of the board of directors for Garden Fresh Restaurants Corp. Bob is also a member of the deans advisory council for the Graduate School of Management at the Univer- sity of California, Davis. Getyour deposits in for the reunion and return those completed surveys. See you in June.
