Phil Young was among those Friends of the Dartmouth Library who recently gave valuable manuscripts or volumes to add to the College collection in the Baker Library. Phil has the habit of doing good deeds and then hiding his light under a bushel. He really needs a good publicity agent and your Secretary hereby applies for the position.
President Guy Richards, Judge Louis Cox and Selden Staples attended the Dartmouth Alumni dinner in Boston. They report that the speeches were excellent but in a more serious vein than in pre-war times.
Steve Chase has an article entitled "Sand-tank Culture of Gladiolus" in TheGladiolus Magazine for 1942. This is the 17th annual year book of the American Gladiolus Society.
Word has reached your Secretary of the death of the wife of Hardy Richardson, our classmate, in December at Claremont, N. H. I am glad to report that Hardy is back at his office carrying on.
