The Dartmouth Alumni Association of Florida, held its annual banquet on the night of March sth, at the Shrine Club in St. Petersburg. Our Classmate, Judge Fred C. Cleveland, arranged the program and presided; and he did it all so adequately and so much to the pleasure and satisfaction of the members, he was not permitted to deny them the pleasure of mandating him for another year as president of the association. In the afternoon of the same day, Mrs. Edwin B. Frost (Prof. Frost was '86) entertained the Dartmouth ladies at her winter home, 2945 Third Avenue, N. The speaker of the evening was Prof. Ralph A. Burns, Professor of Education at Dartmouth.
Having been present at one or two of these banquets, I can attest the pleasure they afford to Dartmouth men and their ladies vacationing in Florida. Believing that it may be interesting to a wide circle of Dartmouth Alumni, I give below a list of those present besides Fred and Mrs. Cleveland and Prof. Burns and Mrs. Frost: H. E. Gage '87, T. C. H. Bouton '78, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Frost '89, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hill '20, Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Atwood '05, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn C. Gould 'l6, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Kelly '86, Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Spencer '88, Mr. and Mrs. Fred T. Dunlop '88, Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Kelly '32, Dr. and Mrs. L. J. Mason '93, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Leavitt '91, Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Davis '86, Mrs. Harry T. Lord '87, Mr. and Mrs. Henry H. Austin '85. Among invited guests were Dean Craven Laycock's brothers, Ellis and Barry.
Our champion Class winter travelers, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Wilson, didn't leave their home city during the winter. In a letter from A. B. last February, he wrote: "Mrs. Wilson and I are expecting to stay right here in Hartford this winter unless the Huns get to bombing this old town regularly. In which event we shall run to the country (Granville, Mass.). With submarines off the coast and no automobile tires to be had, we are just going to be pretty quiet."
