JUNE 18 WAS AN IMPORTANT day for the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Chicago. At a special luncheon held at Mandel Brothers the Association had the pleasure of meeting the successful candidate for its annual scholarship award, namely: Ted C. Seiler, of 830 Locust Road, Winnetka, Illinois. Ted hails from New Trier High School where he has had an enviable record, both scholastically and otherwise. At this meeting Ted made a very gratifying speech of acceptance which served to confirm in the Association's mind the excellent judgment employed by the Scholarship Committee in its choice of a candidate. We have every confidence that he will be a credit to the College and to himself.

Ted's father, Mr. O. E. Seiler, was also present and we thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity of meeting him.

W. R. Abbott Jr. '27, and J. W. Embree '21, Alumni Counselors for this District, had recently returned from Hanover and gave us a very interesting report on wartime conditions at the College, discussing in some detail the many new administrative problems which have been the inevitable result.

President Kenneth H. Thomas '21, asked for suggestions and ideas on the Association's annual golf outing. Plans for this have since been crystallized under the able management of J. W. Embree '21, and R. G. Hinners '22, and the Party was held on July 31 at the Bob O'Link Golf Club in Highland Park. In that the Spring Party was eliminated because of the War and opportunities for Dartmouth get-to-gethers are all too infrequent, those in the Chicago area were urged to attend.

The usual daily luncheons held at Mandel Brothers Department Store will continue through the summer, as well as occasional special luncheons at the same location. As is doubtless known, a special invitation is extended to any Dartmouth men traveling through Chicago, and in addition we sincerely hope that any of those who are in the service will pay us a visit.
