The engagement is announced of Miss Janet White Merrill.to Cadet Daniel Blaisdell Ruggles 3rd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel B. Ruggles Jr. of Marblehead. Miss Merrill is a member of the junior class at Colby Junior College. Cadet Ruggles was graduated from Vermont Academy and was a member of the class of 1946 at Dartmouth. At present he is at the University of Denver, in the Army Specialized Training Plan
