Making headlines as one of "America's Ten Best Dope Lawyers" in a recent to High Times magazine is Ed Mallett. Ed is a graduate of the University of Texas Law School. Early in his career he took an interest in defending clients facing harsh penalties for marijuana violations. Certainly his most famous clients were the mercenaries who helped 14 convicted Americans escape from the Piedras Negras Prison in 1976.
Dick Keresey heads the antiquities depart- ment at Sotheby Parke Bernet. He was recently quoted at length in the Boston Globe on the subject of collecting ancient art. You may be interested to know that prices of Egyptian art seem to be climbing at a faster rate than art in other areas.
Gary Schwindt has been appointed assistant investment officer in the mortgage and real es- tate department at Connecticut General. He and Cheryl live in Avon, Conn., where Gary is president of the Youth Hockey Association.
Warren Cook spends a good deal of time in the Middle East and in the Far East. His (own) company is Chemical Fabrics, which makes among other things Teflon-coated fabrics for stadium seats and industrial uses. Warren and Brammy have a small farm in Shaftsbury, Vt. My only livestock consists of eight chickens which require very little shoveling and do produce eggs. Warren's livestock consists of horses, but I think Brammy does the shoveling.
Late word from New Orleans: John Donovan is a racing entrepreneur and horsetrainer.
