Venerable men of 1895. It is my pleasure to present to you Miss Anne J. Benson, the estimable young lady sitting on a stone wall as pictured in a snap shot quite likely to appear in the next Reuniorvist. She has typed scores o£ columns of our class notes and has a keen interest in the class. She knows you all by name (including nickname), and knows where you live and work. We all owe thanks to her for her faithful work as assistant class secretary. She does what I can't do (except by the laborious pick and tap technique), namely, type class notes quickly and neatly, whenever laid before her in my not too beautiful longhand. She is also in charge of Austin's mimeograph when The Reunionist goes to press and sees to it that you all get your copy.
Another half-tone picture of Miss Benson and a friend will appear when the one mentioned above does. In this one Miss Benson poses with her friend, then Miss Mary Kennedy, now Mrs. Doyle of Washington, D. C. This picture will be included for the interest it will probably have as illustrating the style of dress we used to see on the rare occasions when we were bidden to a faculty reception, and also when Miss Mildred Crosby, Miss Sarah Smith, "Senorita" Bisbee at al rustled up the center isle of the old White Church (peace to its ashes!) while most of us were still awake on compulsory Sunday morning.
Miss Benson poses in a dress once worn by the famously wealthy Hetty Green, who claimed a legal residence in Bellows Falls, Vt., about the time we were in college. Miss Kennedy poses in Miss Benson's grandmother's dress, which dates it well within our time.
