The death of classmate Wallace H. Tarbell is chronicled in the In Memoriam column of this issue. His death was not unexpected as he had been critically ill for months. Dr. Tarbell's death is the fifth loss our class has sustained since January first of the current year, and is the second since our Reunion. Our valedictorian, Morrison, was the first to go, March 19; Rumery, May 9; Gault, May 26; Newhart, July 9; Tarbell, July 20.
"Death, so called, is a thing which makes men weep
And yet a third of life is passed in sleep."
On this basis every '95 man who has been caught napping an average of eight hours a day, from the day we graduated until June 22, 1945, fifty years have all slept sixteen and two-third years during that period. Some napping! I'll declare. Memento Mori.
It has been made possible by Sherry Baketel to have a report of our Golden Anniversary printed. Be patient, men. It takes time to arrange the format. You will have read a running account of our doings in The Post-Reunionist before these notes are published, and later on it is hoped and expected that you will have a printed report.
