Frank Lowe who has been with Batchelder and Snyder Co., Inc., in Boston for many years, feels that after forty-four years of hard work he is entitled to take life easier, and is planning on retiring very soon. It would be good to see Frank at our next Reunion and we shall hope to have him with us.

The Dartmouth Alumni Dinner was held in Boston, February 28, and as usual the class was well represented, the following men answering the roll call, Calderwood, Cudworth, Hathaway, Dunnington, Cobb, Boyle, Wood, Whelan, Denison, Chase and Bryant, with Hoppy at the head table, of course.

Charlie Boyle has been suffering from a long illness, but he showed his old fighting spirit and his loyalty to the College by making a real effort to go from Worcester to Boston and attend the Alumni Dinner. This fighting spirit of his was greatly appreciated by his many classmates and friends who were glad indeed to see him.

So that the outstanding achievements and good deeds of the men and women of Chicago may not go unrecognized each day, the Chiago Sun pays public honor to an individual for his or her good works. Recently the Sun saluted Judge Daniel P. Trude, who has announced he will retire from the Circuit Court bench after twenty-seven years of service in the judiciary here. In making the announcement, Judge Trude, who is known as one of the hardest working judges in Chicago courts, said he was retiring voluntarily rather than allowing himself any letup in his heavy court schedule. Judge Trude was the son of a noted Chicago attorney, the late Alfred S. Trude and nephew of former Superior Judge George A. Trude, and he has served continuously in the Circuit Court since 1929, previously in the Municipal Court. Before his last election on the Republican judicial ticket, the Bar Association committee on candidates called him able, sincere and well qualified for office. Eliot Bishop will be our class representative at the New York Alumni Dinner, April 26, at. the Hotel Pennsylvania.

The Committee of Secretaries of the First Five Classes of the Century have completed' arrangements through their efficient business manager, Bob Harding '05, for the dinner to be held May 11, 1945, at Schraffts', 16 West St., Boston (the same place as in former years). This ought to be a grand party and one that no one can afford to miss. These dinners get better every year, and this year we hope to have both the president of Cornell University, Rufus Day '05, and our own Hoppy with us on that occasion. Hoppy says he hopes to make it, in fact is looking forward to meeting these men, of classes that he knows perhaps more intimately than he has ever known any classes. So remember the date is Friday, May 11, any time after 5.30 P.M., and be ready to have a grand time with your own classmates, as well as with men of other classes you knew while in College.

Once again Johnnie Ward has started on his job to meet our quota for the Alumni Fund, and we should all come across as soon as possible and with as much as possible, in that way we can make his work easier and he can be assured we are all behind him 100%. He made a very fine record last year and we should help him make an even better one this campaign. He has the mechanical work to do, but it is up to each one of us, every single one, to dig deep and soon. Let us surprise Johnnie with quick and prompt action and thus relieve him of some worries and efforts.
