Hazel and Perley Grant motored through Maine this summer and had the pleasure of a call on Hoppy at his summer home. George Sunderland celebrated his recent birthday with a family party and with 15 children and grandchildren we understand it was a lively affair. George still gets in a round of golf three or four days a week but positively will not declare his scores.
The Gilmores spent an enjoyable week at Prouts Neck, Me., with Harry Jr. '34 and his family. Harry Clark continues in his practice but only about half time. He finds that is just about what keeps him going and does not overdo. Mrs. Clark passed away some years ago. His home is kept comfortable with a fine housekeeper. Frankie Newhall writes he hopes to be with us next June. He is not a good traveler but thinks he can make it. He found his trip through Europe this past summer very interesting and informative.
Marion and Steve Stevens enjoyed a most happy weekend with Inez and Tommie Remsen. The Remsens are ideal hosts and entertain their guests most royally. We also stayed one night with Floss and Jim Kimball at their old house in Hingham. Here also are real hosts. It was interesting to see and hear about Floss's horses and to see her collection of trophies won in nearby horse shows. Jim showed a lot of Hanover and class slides that brought back happy memories.
Beacon Hildreth has been re-elected Town Clerk of Westford for another 3 years, this being his 43d consecutive term of service. For 9 years prior to 1915 he was Chairman of the Board of Overseers of the Poor, so he has given 52 years of service to his native town.
