HAD A CALL FROM Jim Rick '31 and was surprised to learn he has been located in New York for about a year and a half. Jim was promoted from lieutenant (jg) to full lieutenant over a year, ago, and has been serving in headquarters of the naval ferry service command in New York since the latter part of 1943. He plans to move his family to the big city for the summer months. Jim reported having seen Louis Eckstrom '12 and Andy Marshall '22 at a Dartmouth dinner at the Dartmouth Club of New York.

Jack Loose '33 has served in Hawaii and the Philippines during the past year not to mention many other points in the wide Pacific. More recently Jack has seen plenty of action off Okinawa. He is officer of the deck on a naval transport which is armed to the teeth, and has 162 enlisted men and 20 petty officers to see that the ship is protected and kept floating. Jack states his gun crews shot down five Jap suicide bombers a few weeks ago and were shooting continually for 48 hours. All in all, Jack is having himself an experience.
