With the College now back in full swing, your correspondent will attempt to bring you the news from his very small letter pile. Please write if you want this section to have something in it of you, your friends, and the College. With about 400 of you there ought to be some news. How about that?

First word from Fred Pfau who is in Boston U. studying for his master's degree, specializing in guidance. He is also doing some publicity work for the honorable Harvard U. It was quite a come-down from Dartmouth, but a Dartmouth man learns how to adapt himself to all sorts of difficult positions. Bob Hoover sends word from Milesburg, Pennsylvania. He got out of the Navy in August which was not too soon for our boy. Jack Dartnell is at NYU and working very hard for his sheepskin in June, 1947. After his graduation, Jack plans to head for Buenos Aires, where he will go into airplane advertising. Jack misses the Butterfield Gang, being one of the Gang, the editor knows what he means. Good Luck, Jack.

Red Copenhaver, doing graduate work at Wisconsin, is not working hard, and for once he admits it. That's a joke, Redhead. Navy Alumni at Wisconsin are four, Buerki, finishing his work in the chemistry department, Malcolm Starkey, married and studying Petroleum Engineering, "Seaman" Beaman, who is in pre-law, and big Dan Murphy, whose occupation there is still in doubt, but he dresses well anyway. John Lowe is in Leominster, Mass., but that's all this office can say. BobSimmons received his A.B. from Kalamazoo College, and is now studying for his M.D. at the University of Michigan. Michael Rapak is at the Med School of Cornell in New York City. John Robey dwells in Cambridge, Mass. We haven't any idea what he is doing, but we can hope that it hasn't too much to do with Harvard.

Word from Ensign Ralph Richardson's Dad brings word that our guy went to NROTC at Penn after his V-12 here. Then on receiving his commission last June, he was sent to the USS Toledo, heavy cruiser. He is in Newport training the crew now, but should be going aboard her this month. Get this men, ChuckDenneen has made the slip. He's married. Congratulations to you and the little woman, Chuck. We're proud of you. They're settled in New York now. Dean Kutchera wrote a nice letter from Washington where he is working in the Navy Department Document Center. He went there after getting out of the Jap Language School in Boulder, Colorado. He saw Jack Howard at the Brooklyn Navy Yard on terminal leave and all set to return to the College. Bryan Battey was doing translation work in Washington until his discharge in April. Bryan says things are tough on the outside and wishes he had stayed in the Navy. No comment. John Pfiel has been discharged. Felix Jablonski is with the First Fleet; he just returned from the Bikini Tests. Robert Dobin, well-covered with ribbons and battle stars is on Long Island doing some work in engineering.

Ray Dwyer is in Plattsburgh, N. Y., but that is all we know. Give us the scoop, Ray. Louis.Belisle according to the dope we have is still an ensign and is in West Leb. Maybe he is on leave, or maybe there is a Navy base there. Who knows? Word from Chuck Fendrich tells of all the boys who got their commissions in June here and went to the West Coast. Chuck is on the USS LCI (L) 1067 at Guam for the present. Benny Bennekemper, Gene Cafiero,Hank Cleef, Harry Mahmarian, Hank Gensler,Min Lambert, Chuck Whitmore, George Little, and Chuck enjoyed Frisco together before heading out. Hank and Chuck flew to Pearl together. Leo Warring is skipper of the USS LCI (L) 989 now at Guam. Chuck Whitmore was on Guam picking up parts for his LCI (L) 639. Hank Gensler and Min Lambert are in communications on the beach. Chuck Rearden is attached to fleet supply. Chuck Fassano went to Harvard from here and is now on a PC at

Guam. Herb Rigel went to UCLA from here and is also on Guam. The College has quite a gathering there, you might say.

Keep the mail coming; this boy has to have something to write about. Keep in there. See you next month in the column.
