I have a tremendous basketful of mail here, one letter and some notes from Fred Pfau to help me supplement the column. Fred notes that Bob Bullock has been named regional manager for Mauvel, Inc., operating out of their home office in Chicago. He has left his home in Boston to take this job. Good luck, Bob. Bill Lipton is back at Columbia finishing up while doing some of his usual stints on the air shows out of New York City. Bill put in an appearance here in Hanover not long ago. Bob Martin, Sandy Gottlieb, and Bud Greenberger are also on the Manhattan scene. ScottJohnson has also joined them in their wild doings in the big city. Hank Gensler is back from Guam and is settled in an area which will never remind him of Guam, Brooklyn. Ed Davidson is at Rutgers, either as an instructor or doing some graduate work, maybe both. How about a scoop, Ed? Freddie is well and studying.

Jim Sheekey, one of the finest pitchers to pass through our Navy Unit, wrote the letter to fill our columns. Thanks a lot, Jim. Jim is going south with the Boston Red Sox. He was Oneonta in the Canadian-American League where he compiled a record of 12 won and 6 lost, one of the best records in the League. In August Jim cracked out a home run in the marital league. He married his high school sweetheart. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sheekey. We'll be looking for you on the roster of the Red Sox soon, Jim. Also your boy, Emil Hudak, is doing great work on the starting five here this winter.

Needless to say we need more mail. It is easier to write a column with no letters to write about, but I know that you want the news in big doses so get hot and send me some mail. There isn't any more this time. Good luck now.
