The Class and the College lost a devoted friend when Pat Hathaway died on October 7. And, of course, his family has suffered a tragic loss. Pat experienced a severe heart attack during a golf game late in September. He was taken to a Bronxville hospital and his condition remained very serious until his death, though at times it seemed that he might pull through. Bill Minsch reports that the crowd and the masses of flowers, including those from '07, were a testimony to the great number of friends he had. Those who have had the good fortune to keep in touch with Pat since graduation are unanimous in feeling that throughout his mature years his interests broadened, his accomplishments multiplied, and his friendships expanded. One classmate writes that "best of all he remained just as boyish in spirit as he was in college." Another writes, "He was a great fellow," a simple but strong tribute with which all Pat's friends will agree. Pat had an active, productive life. One of his many intimate friends will tell part of that story in the In Memoriam columns in the next issue of the MAGAZINE.

Bill Cummings writes that he is delighted that a good old-fashioned reunion is being planned for next year and that Helen and he are looking forward to it with a great deal of pleasure. Another classmate, who shall be unnamed for the present, writes, "In June, 1947, I shall be seventy and I hope to celebrate the occasion by attending the 40th anniversary of '07 at Hanover." Who is he? Mail your guess to the Class Secretary.

Did you enjoy the picture of '07's Third Reunion in the November MAGAZINE? If you did, give George Liscomb the credit.

Art Farrington is an Assistant Director of a division of the U. S. Maritime Commission in Washington.

Merton C. Knapp continues his connection as a civil engineer with the New Hampshire Highway Department at Concord, N. H.

A recent report that Allan Brown had returned from Florida to New Hampshire implied that this might have been a permanent change of base. That appears not to be the fact as he has recently notified the College that his residence address is again Anna Maria, Florida.
