It's spring in Hanover again and as usual the weather is beautiful—for ducks! Seriously, though, Green Key was revived last weekend, May 4, and it was a lot of fun, particularly for us '47s who are the oldest class on campus that had never seen the big times that go on on that occasion.
Jiggs Fuller wrote in from the Minesweeper Triumph to tell us of at least one big time he was able to secure from the Navy—3o days of duty in Frisco during which time liberty call blew all day long. Though he had not actu- ally been able to see .Russ Pfaff, he knew Russ was in the vicinity and was keeping his eyes peeled for the possibility of a reunion in the near future.
Johnny Crowe, attached to the Marine Air Corps in Tsingtao, China, doesn't seem to agree with some of the oldtimers who claim that there is nothing like China duty. Or maybe he does agree and feels thankful that there isn't anything like it elsewhere. In any case, it would seem that Johnny wishes he were in Hanover right now.
Jim Tyler with three stripes up and two down on his sleeve appears to be running his Anti-Aircraft battalion singlehandedly in the position of Battalion Operations Sergeant. "Life here in Wurzburg is dull but not hard," he says. "We have a couple of good clubs with GI bands, a new movie every night, and a Red Cross Club. Frauleins are plentiful. I am plan- ning on reentering Dartmouth in the fall. I will probably study electrical engineering and Nugget ll—which reminds me, have they got the old Nugget rebuilt yet? Sure hope so. Without the Nugget I might be forced to study nights."
We recently received notice of several serv- ice advancements for publication in the de- partment of Rank, Promotions in; Ensigns tires Fuller, Bob Price, Russ Pfaff; and Lt. (jg) Alan Zeller.
Please pardon the following editor's plug but your correspondent is at this point very happy about his recent discharge from the Marine Corps and his subsequent return to college.
