THE DARTMOUTH CLUE Of Utica had a dinner meeting at the Hotel Utica on May 8. Jim Capps '19 was elected President to fill the unexpired term of John Cogswell '31, who has resigned because of a promotion involving his transfer to Buffalo by the New York Telephone Company. Johnnie is to be District Manager out there and our best wishes go with him, although it is a big loss to us and we are sorry to see him go.
Hazen B. Hinman Sr. '14 was elected to be an additional Vice-President to represent the out-of-town members. Wistar Williams '36, Roland E. Chesley 'OB ("Dartmouth's oldest living graduate"), Russell Hurd '36, and "Ace" Miller '34 of Rome were elected to the Executive Committee.
Jim Capps appointed Roland E. Chesley as Chairman of the Information Committee to carry on the function which he has handled so capably for a great many years, of interviewing prospective candidates for college enrollment.
We have received an invitation from Gardy Spring '38 of Syracuse to form a delegation from Utica to attend a dinner party for the Central New York Alumni Club to be held at the Skaneateles Country Club on June 14. We are hoping to get a good turnout to go over.
At the meeting, President Capps invited the whole gang, together with their wives and guests, to a cocktail party at his home to precede a proposed dinner dance at the Yahnundasis Golf Club on June 7.
The program of the meeting was concluded with a showing of Professor Lyon's kodachrome slides depicting life in Hanover during wartime. It ended with everyone in agreement that the new club has been well formed. The treasurer, Joseph Kyser '32, was even successful in collecting annual dues from all those present to get the club started on a good financial footing.
