I never expected to be a Dorothy Dix, but I'm always glad to do anything for a good cause, so it's gratifying to know that this column is contributing, indirectly at least, to the marital bliss of Paul McLaughlin (and this proves that I have at least one feminine fansome of you other people should have married girls who can read). Paul writes from Providence: Since I have been married (October 3, 1946) my wife, ne Rita Gilooly, has become one of your most ardent fans. She feels sorry for you—"That poor man has to write that monthly column and nobody ever writes to him to give him news of the class." I, therefore, feel that my married life will run much smoother if I sit down and write you a letter on her best note paper. I have been living here in Providence since I got out of the Navy and have been poking around in the general insurance business .... Plantation Underwriters, Inc At varous times I have run across Brad Tyndall and EddyPerrin I am still connected with the Organized Reserve and have command of Division 1-36 in Pawtucket.

Thanks, Rita for prodding your spouse into epistolary action. Bob Foley reports that he and Betty have, after a grueling search, located an apartment near Boston. Bob is at Lahey Clinic. He says that Sheriff Gordon, inarticulate for, 10, these many months, is living somewhere in upper New York State. And New York State brings to mind an unpleasant piece of correspondence I received recently from Syracuse, signed Baron. I'm unable to identify the writer, and it wasn't worth reprinting anyway.

Chet Emerson is now at Chicopee Falls with United States Rubber Company. During the war he was in the incendiary and tracer bullet section of their munitions division, and is now studying methods in their tire division. Chet expects that the end of the year will find him headed for Port Elizabeth, Union of South Africa, and his good frau and Chet 111 will no doubt be along. Chet was married to Mary Loring, of Natick, Mass., on December 27, 1940 (this is another Reno scoop), and young C. A. is now two and a half. Mary was "a playmate from the pig tail and short pant days." (Donovan and Walls please take note.)

I am pleased to be able to report that HobieRockxvell's creditors will have less trouble finding him than they have for the past five years, during most of which time he has been (censored) in (censored) and other foreign spots, which, as anyone can see, has been pretty interesting. Rockie is now in Pittsburgh with Connecticut General, and, being a diehard exponent of private enterprise, he says he prefers pounding the pavement for them to basking in the sun at Copacabana for Uncle Sam.

Who's Where: Dal Dobelbower is living in Newark and working for Mutual Life of New York in the big city Dick Gilbert has migrated to Greenville, S. C., and is also in the insurance business, with Liberty Life Bill Collins recently moved to Chicago, with Trent Tube Mfg. Cos Johnny Stein is with Kuttner and Kuttner, Inc., advertisers, also in the windy city Lew Parker was last reported at sea, somewhere between Iceland and Greenland, on the U. S. C. G. C. Dexter, on weather patrol. I hear that's a good place to spend the winter, if you can't get to Florida. .... BobSouthworth is with Socony Vacuum in the Gloucester area Bev Smith is in Oakland, California; a Russian spy stole the rest of my dossier on him, and I can report nothing further Slew Whitman is allegedly in Dallas, Texas, and whether his exile is permanent or temporary I can't 5ay..... Bill Olmstead can be found at the Merion Cricket Club in Haverford, Pa Bill Chamberlin can be found in Arlington, Va., if you know where to look. Blair Morrissey is with U. S. Steel Export Company in Toronto Howie Dunbar, the nucleus of numerous Russell Sage intramural teams when they were unbeatable, is living in Macomb, 111., and knows all the places where quail and duck can be found in Illinois.

Jack Lutz, out of the Army last July, is living in Wellesley with wife and daughter Eleanor. Jack is in the food brokerage business with his father; he says, "I see Bob Griffin quite regularly, both in a business way (he's with H. A. Johnson and Cos. in Boston) and personally as he lives only a short distance from me. He now has three children, Marcia, Joan and Robert, Jr. About two weeks ago Gus Southworth and wife, Sandy, dropped in on us. They are living at Know Hill, Scotch Plains, N. J. They now have two kiddos, a boy and a girl. Gus is with Merck Chemical in N. J. He says that Ray Ammarell is back with Life and Gil Tanis, I believe, is back with Curtiss I'ropellor in N. J."

Merrill Davis and Art Van Kirk were living together in Chicago this winter while Mrs. D. and three small Ds. were in Florida, and Mer'l eventually joined them there. Sid Cardozo is with Life again (that's a magazine, not a physical condition), in New York; he writes:

Had a wonderful flying junket around the West Indies last spring and a cushy junket to England and France to cover the maiden voyage of the Queen Elizabeth. Saw Scott Runkle in Paris, in the Time Paris office, settled down happily with wife and child. Bumped into Bob Lang a few weeks ago—married and with Fred Waring. Syd Hogerton's back with the telephone company. I saw DaveBerliner a few weeks ago on the subway. He was about to be married.

Well, I suppose being married on the subway is better than not being married at all, but the truth of the matter is that Dave was married in New Orleans to Hilda Hirsch on March 2. They are back in New York after a trip to Havana. Hilda is a graduate of Sophie Newcomb Col'.ege in N'Orlins; Dave is with J. G. Proctor Company.

No more marriages, but Herb and LouiseChristiansen have a new boarder, Glen Milton, born February 23, and Dan and Betty Quilty acquired another exemption on St. Patrick's day, Patricia Lou. Dan says, "Another daughter! Any suggestions as to what to do with three women?" Sorry, Dan, but I've cut into D. Dix's domain enough for one day.
