This is the last column until next fall, but the year has gone by so quickly that it doesn't seem as if we've covered everyone's activities. Lang's letters for the next few weeks ought to cover the situation, though, and then we can look forward to a rest. Walls reports that the Fund is coming along in fits and starts, and we certainly would appreciate it if you haven't already done so, if you would put this item on your MUST list.

Cliff Chester is back in New York as Managing Editor of LATIN AMERICAN INFORMATION, Squee Ellis is with the love of his life and the bane of our college existence .... Phillip Morris, Carmelo Gugino is with George A. Hormel & Co. in Buffalo, Charley Hitchcock can't seem to stay in the States for long, and he's back in the Canal Zone as a student engineer, George Payne is taking a training course with Jones 8c Laughlin Steel in Pittsburgh, Scott Runkle is an assistant buyer for J. C. Penney & Co., in New York, Bill Barkley is with National Carbon, and Keresey is still among the missing.

Bud Williams' new book Mr. Secretary, published by Macmillan, is now for sale, and deals with Lincoln's Secretary of War, Stanton. The rave notices have been good. I neglected to mention the name of Johnny Jameson's bride last month, and she is Helen Minna Bolton of Alexandria, La. Frank Brett was best man and at this writing hasn't gotten home from the wedding yet. He's probably gone on the honeymoon with them. Bill Ganter says, "I was in Hanover the week-end Ed Meservey gave himself a very nasty gash on his leg while skiing on Moosilauke and we all may feel proud of Johnny Rand who did a first class job of first aid. It was a serious cut and very deep, requiring 15 stitches, first at the Ravine Camp and then again at Hanover. Eddie has plenty of guts to accept 15 stitches without ether —and not pass out." Al Raymond left the New England Trust to go with the Connecticut Mutual Life. Dick Tisdale and Dave Brinkman are with the Pilgrim Trust of Boston. Sandy Mills writes that Bill Blees has signed with Warner Brothers for a long term contract.

Val Cravens is with Gunnison Housing Corp. in New Albany, Indiana. .. .making prefabricated houses. Says they're just the things for you newlyweds. And here's another wedding for y0u.... Anne Piper and Phil Harty, May 17th, in Concord, Mass. Will some of you fellows do me a favor and come down here to get married. Speck Holmes is still at the University of Arizona College of Mines and Engineering. Bob Feineman's engagement to Ardys Leitch Damon was announced. She's a graduate of the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing '37, Worcester, Mass.

In another three months, it looks as if we'll have close to thirty marriages to report, and you can count on our next issue sounding very social, all of which should make you wonder how so many hoboes can do so well with their wooing. This is all for this month, mainly because cooperation has been at a standstill, and because Lang is garnering all the news for the Pace-Setter, which bids well to take over the function of this column. I'll probably see some of you during the summer, and in the meantime, Happy Hunting.

Word has just been received of the sudden death of John G. Emerson, who passed away at his home in Beverly, Mass., from an acute attack of appendicitis. Further details are in Necrology notes.
