News of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Eastern Pennsylvania should make the front page in the Reading newspapers now that John Bernheim '45 is working as a reporter for the Reading Eagle-Times. Plans are being made for another big Dartmouth ball game and picnic in September at LeeBausher's farm near Hamburg.
Two of the Eastern Pennsylvania Indians have moved out of our reservation: Nolan P.Benner Jr. '44 of Allentown to 1633 Georgetown Place, Pittsburgh 21, Pa., and John W.McCuiston '41 of Bethlehem to 14010 Monica Apt. 22, Detroit 4, Mich.
At the last Association meeting at AndyMarshall's home in Bethlehem, Bob Ritter '18 of Allentown was elected Prexy, Bob Wilmot '34 of Bethlehem vice-president, and CarlErdman '37 of Wyomissing, secretary. Others attending in addition to our host were: Elliott W. Cheney '20, J. Lee Bausher '21, Louis Capwell '46, William Cummings '34, A. L. Krum '38, Fred Porter '40, George Buchner '43, Frank Corlett '35, Louis Ekstrom '12, and Milton Shultz '30.
The advent of these men pushed our group membership past the 130 mark, though a few are at an inconvenient location so far as getting to our meetings is concerned. But an attractive program has been arranged for the coming year and a brisk business is anticipated throughout the season.
Among the more intriguing features on the calendar for the near future is a group excursion on October 2 for the Penn football game at Franklin Field; a meeting on Dartmouth Night, October 15; and a television party with Princeton on November 20.
Other interesting developments to accrue from the meeting at the house of our president, Ed Pierce '41, is the fact that another alumni-undergraduate party will be staged at Christmas over and above our regular Christmas meeting.
It has, for the most part, been a pleasant summer, with the late August heat wave injecting the only sour note. Perhaps the chief development from a newsworthy point of view concerns the birth of his first child to CharlesArmes '34, our efficient treasurer. The youngster's name is Carol Elizabeth.
