CHESTER A. WESCOTT '14 of Bar Harbor, Maine, has been named manager of the Hanover Inn, beginning December 1, President Dickey announced last month.

Mr. Wescott will succeed David Heald '42, who has resigned to accept the position of manager of the Mt. Sunapee State Park Recreation Development. He will serve as Hanover Inn manager during the rebuilding of Malvern Hotel at Bar Harbor, which he managed until it was destroyed by fire in 1947.

Roger S. Brown '45, who had been serving as resident manager of the D. O. C. Ravine Camp at Mt. Moosilauke, was appointed Assistant Manager of the Inn a few days after the announcement of Mr. Heald's new position. He began his Inn duties immediately and next month, upon Mr. Heald's departure, he will assume charge of the Inn's Ski School and winter sports program. Mr. Brown was president of the D. O. C. during his senior year, which he completed in June after returning to college from military service as a Marine Corps fighter pilot in the South Pacific.

Mr. Wescott has been in the hotel business almost continuously since his graduation from Dartmouth in 1914. He became manager of the Malvern Hotel in 1927 and during winter seasons has been connected with several Florida Hotels at Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Daytona Beach, Miami and St. Petersburg.

He has held numerous civic positions in Bar Harbor and has been a trustee of the Mount Desert Island Reservation and president of the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Wescott is a native of Maiden, Mass.

Mr. Heald's new position with the New Hampshire Forestry and Recreation Commission was announced by the State on October 8. In it he will manage the recreation center opening on Mt. Sunapee this winter. The new skiing development will feature a 3200-foot chair lift and will have three main trails of more than 4,000 feet each.
