On the same afternoon that the football team was hanging a decisive defeat on the Harvards in the Stadium, the crosscountry team was doing the same thing to their opposite numbers in Hanover. Coach Ellie Noyes' harriers registered their first victory of the season over the crimson-clad harriers on the torturous Hanover course. Captain Stan Waterman continued his victorious progress by taking first place and this time the other boys in green gave him some support. Ken Anderson of Dartmouth was second, Warren Daniel of the Green was third, and Norm Crisp was fourth. The first runner from the banks of the Charles able to break into the money tied for fifth place with Mai Decker of Dartmouth. Elliot and Robie came in seventh and eighth for Dartmouth, with two Harvards making ninth and tenth. The result of this stimulating activity was a to 4714 victory for Dartmouth.

The next week, the harriers continued their victorious progress, this time against Fordham, winning this one by a 25-32 count in a closely-fought match which saw Captain Stan Waterman win for the fourth consecutive time this season.

Late note: Waterman won the Heptagonal cross-country championship, November 6, with Dartmouth fifth in team score. The next Green runner finished 18th after Waterman.
