The Dartmouth Alumni Club of Glens Falls and Vicinity held its annual business meeting on Friday, November 5, at the Hotel Queensbury, Glens Falls. The meeting consisted of a dinner-smoker; and the speaker of the evening was one of our club members, Jud Hannigan '46, captain of the Big Green eleven during the 1947 season. Jud is presently connected with the International Paper Company mill at Corinth and has established his reputation as a football player in this area. He is Captain of the Glens Falls Commodores, one of the leading professional football teams in Northern New York. In his talk, Jud gave the club a background of the current Big Green teams which have a big following in this area, due to this city's proximity to Hanover. Colored movies of this year's Dartmouth-Colgate football game were also shown.
Alumni who attended the dinner were: Frank Morey '20, Kip Higley '23, Tom Griffin '23, George Davis '28, Jack Birmingham '30, Phil Peck '30, Sam Englander '32, Bob Crawford '37, Roy Middleworth '39, Mort McGinley '41, Don Hanks '41, George Morse '41, Dr. Ward Jenkins '42, Gibb Clark '42, John Bullard '42, Jud Hannigan '42, Arch Gernert '42.
A committee was selected to coordinate the interviewing of applicants. John Bullard '42 will act as chairman and will be assisted by Kip Higley '23 and Arch Gernert '42. Plans were also made to have a dinner during Christmas vacation at which the undergraduates will be the club's guests.
