THE THIRTY-I'OURTH annual meeting of the Cheshire County Dartmouth Alumni Association was held at the Hotel Ellis, Keene, N. H., on Monday evening, December 29, 1947. Fifty members and guests were present, the largest gathering in many years.

Vice-president George Kingsbury '38 presided and introduced members from Peterboro, Troy, Marlboro and West Swanzey, as well as Dr. A. W. Hopkins '99, oldest member, and Norris Nims Jr., prospective '56. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: president, George Kingsbury '38; vicepresident, Kenneth Arwe '41; and secretary- treasurer, Russell G. Putney '22.

Our guest speaker was Robert P. "Whitey"Fuller '37, back with us again after an absence of six- years. He gave a splendid, straightforward talk on Dartmouth athletics, its present and its future. He lauded the splendid spirit of this year's football team but pointed out that it was doubtful if Dartmouth would ever have an outstanding team, nationally, again. The competition is so fierce for good football players, and since the only thing Dartmouth could offer intrinsically was scenery, we would do well to hold our own in the Ivy League. However, we can view with pride our hockey teams, which have lost only six games out of 76 played—a remarkable record.

Following the talk, four reels of football movies were shown which were very interesting to the alumni. Whitey predicted that, barring unforeseen events, Dartmouth should field a capable eleven next fall.
