DARTMOUTH MEN

Luncheon Every Monday Noon University Club, Chicago

DARTMOUTH'S IN TOWN AGAIN! SO goes the lyric and also the broadside announcing the Glee Club Concert and Dance at the Bal Tabarin at Chicago's Hotel Sherman, Saturday, April 3. It will all be over before these lines are read, so that the details will have to await next month's installment. At the present writing, we are sure of a capacity house, which means that approximately 750 Dartmouth men and wives will thrill to, the songs we love and then dance just as though we were young again. Hank Embree '30, ably assisted by Frank Ward-well '34 and Jerry Freshman '29 together with retiring prexy Don MacKay '20, was primarily responsible for the success of this party, the first such since before the war.

Meanwhile, since our Hanover Holiday in Chicago, we have received a visit from College Secretary Sid Hayward and Dean of Freshmen Stearns Morse—Sid having called on us March 15 and Dean Morse having been our guest speaker at the luncheon on March 29. Other news includes the following:

Justin A. Stanley '33 has been nominated as candidate of this association for the Alumni Council from District 111.

A prominent visitor at our luncheon on February 16 was E. E. "Spider" Martin '19 of New York City, brother of Congressional Speaker Joe Martin of Massachusetts.

Ben George '84 recently celebrated his 86th birthday at a party attended by several Dartmouth friends, among whom was Bill Abbott '27.

While preparations for the Glee Club party are going forward, chairman of the entertainment committee Hank Embree '30 and his wife, Ruth, have left for three weeks in sunny Mexico.

Current romantic news includes the wedding of Bob Sullivan '39 of La Grange to Jaqueline Northrop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Northrop of Lake Bluff. The wedding will take place at Lake Forest's Church of the Holy Spirit followed by a reception at the Knollwood Club. Among the ushers there will be Jim Garnett '39 of Highland Park.
