THE FIRST STEP TOWARD ORGANIZING a new Nashoba Dartmouth Club, embracing the Nashoba Valley region of Massachusetts, was taken on February 24 when 17 Dartmouth men met at the Picadilly Club, near Ayer. Interest in a permanent club was strongly expressed by those present and arrangements are now under way with the College and Alumni Council to have the new club started off on the trial year necessary before it is officially recognized. A feature of the first dinner meeting was the showing of College movies sent down from Hanover.
The initiative in getting the Nashoba Valley alumni together was taken by Ralph H. Sawyer 17 and Hamilton A. Nlathes '37, who is acting as secretary for the time being. Permanent officers are scheduled to be elected at the second meeting. The Nashoba Dartmouth Club at present embraces the towns of Ayer, Littleton, Harvard, Shirley, Groton, Pepperell, Westford, Acton, Berlin and Bolton, with the possibility of expansion in the future.
