THE LONG ISLAND Association has been moving ahead at full steam since the Glee Club Concert. Bill Jessup '30, chairman of the Dance Committee, announced that the Spring Dance will definitely be held Friday, June 11, at the North Hempstead Country Club. CarllBuhler '30 has lined up a good band, and we are anticipating a record-breaking crowd.
We have been extremely fortunate in arranging a date for President Dickey's reception on Long Island. He will be with us Friday evening, September 17, at the Garden City Hotel. Willard Doyle '33 is in charge of arrangements, and he is planning to make this one of our most memorable affairs.
At a recent Executive Committee and Officers meeting, Willard Doyle presented the first draft of our new constitution which will be presented for final approval at our annual meeting in the Fall.
Bill Coulson '18, is now on the road to recovery from a long siege of serious illness stemming from a heart attack. He reports that it won't be long now before he'll be back in the swing of Dartmouth activities. Carll Buhler has been receiving very favorable reports from his interviewing committeemen for the Class of '52. A vote of commendation to Carll for the fine work he has done in the quarter. John Shaw '27 and Ed Warnke '19 were seen at a recent cocktail party at the Dartmouth Club, where plans were discussed for raising funds for the Hopkins Center. With John and Ed working for the Center, the project is bound to go over the top.
