JANUARY'S LITTLE JOKE: Conditions ideal for water skiing but not for the usual winter sports prevailed last month during one of the mildest and strangest New England winters on record. Complete lack of snow, but plenty of rain (as evidenced above), had Dartmouth's skiers wearing pretty long faces.
