The postcard questionnaires sent out in preparation for the publication of the '28 Directory are arriving at a great rate and for the first time in years I have enough news for several issues. Just when I was all set to bat out an extra column or two, a letter comes from ye editor asking that notes be cut down to allow space for the list of Fund contributors.

Bud Osborn, general manager of Economics Laboratory, Inc., St. Paul, Minn., wrote a sad tale on his questionnaire card:—"Purty bad, living in Indian country you don't see much of '28. So Gloria (wife) and I go to Princeton game on special train. Hell raising? Hell noa bunch of grads from about '07 to '20 are only ones on train. Do I see the boys? Not a soul except rubbed elbows in a mob with Phil Orsi. So we go to Princeton Inn to hoist a few and to meet friends to spend weekend. Do we see '28? Hell no—just some other friends from New York. Must be like G.A.R., all of 'em in cemetery. Back to tepee." (If Bud had read our November notes he would have been reminded that '28 gathers between the halves of the Princeton game outside Portal 20.)

Just in case you don't read Bill Andres' excellent '29 notes, you'll be interested to know that the smash hit on Broadway, "Lend An Ear" was written completely (sketches, music and lyrics) by Charlie Gaynor '29. Fred Burleigh, director of the Pittsburgh Playhouse, had a hand in getting Gaynor's show to Broadway inasmuch as he produced it very ably in his theater.
