The Dartmouth Club of Baltimore has been the recipient of some electrifying news—for the first time in our youthful memory, the President of the College will address us at our April meeting.
Although some highly enlightening raconteurs and public speakers have appeared before us in years gone by (such as Dean Neidlinger last year and Charlie Widmayer in 1947) this will be the first time a lot of us will have gotten a look at President Dickey.
To say that we are anticipating the prospect is to put it lightly, and we hope that we can make his stay at our Blackstone rendezvous enjoyable.
In the meanwhile, though, we are engaged in the process of interviewing applicants for the class of 1953, and we seem to be coming up with some very fine ones indeed. Although acceptance is some months off, we feel certain that we will approach the highwater mark of eight we sent to Hanover last fall.
Our Christmas party was an unqualified success and presents were exchanged ranging from Pete the Pelican to a pair of gorgeous cuff links by Hickok. Jack Murphy '43 was the recipient of the latter gift.
Next on the docket is Ladies Night, where the wives gather in one of the annual highlights of our agenda. We hope to get a reel of the heroic Big Green football team for display on that occasion.
Before signing off the members of the club want to thank in print Hal Mickey '38, chairman of the interviewing committee, and BobHazard 29 and George Parkhurst '30, who played host at some of our interviews with candidates, for a good job well done.
