TELEPHONE: Wellesley 5-0675-M About 85 alumni of Greater Boston's Charles River region gathered at the Wellesley Country try Club on the evening of February 24 for the winter meeting of the Charles River Dartmouth Club.

Prof. Allen R. Foley '20 was the feature guest of the evening and the Class of '20 turned out in force to greet their old classmate. As a matter of fact, they started the ball rolling earlier than the rest of the group at a cocktail party given in honor of A 1 at the home of Hazel andGeorge Macomber.

Meanwhile a cocktail party started at the Club around 6:30 and continued up to and beyond the arrival of the boys of '20. Jack Gilbert '35, former Barbary Coast great, was also a guest of the club and did a fine job on the piano as accompanist for the singing of a group of former glee clubbers who had been assembled by Vin Wentworth '36 and AlBryant '37.

The music was great; in fact, the singers were having such a good time that they did not immediately join the rush for the usual delicious Country Club Buffet which was served at 7:45. They soon forsook their art for their stomachs, however, and the manner in which everyone partook of the food testified either to its goodness or to the appetite enhancing value of martinis and manhattans.

After the meal, Al Foley was introduced by Club Prexy Dick Litchfield. Al, whose visits to this area have been far too infrequent, gave a most interesting and inspiring talk which was enthusiastically received by the alumni. He opened his remarks with news of the current Hanover scene and stories about wellknown college and town characters. He followed with a tribute to Dartmouth loyalty as he has seen it in his years of association with the College and her alumni and expressed his own great satisfaction and pleasure at having had a part in it through teaching at Hanover. At the conclusion of his talk, Al generously consented to do his popular impersonation of the late Dean Craven Laycock.

During most of the evening Norm Erlandson '33, treasurer, was busy looking after the financial interests of the club—nasty business but it must be done and if you haven't yet paid your dues we'll be glad to hear from you.

By the time you read this the Charles River Dartmouth Club will have put on its most extensive function yet—the Glee Club concert at Wellesley High School. We hope you had a good seat and enjoyed the program. Our next affair will be the annual spring meeting in May. We promise you a good time and hope to see a large turnout.
