One of the largest and most enthusiastic groups in our history turned out to greet President Dickey at the annual meeting of the Rhode Island Dartmouth Association, May 16, at the Wannamoisett Country Club. Among the guests were four members (to-be) of the Class of 1954 with their dads, together with the well-known football referee, W. T. "Bill" Halloran.

George L. Tillinghast Jr. '36 was elected president of the Association, with John S.Gumming Jr. '39 being picked as vice-president. Reelected were Townes M. Harris Jr. '47, treasurer, Franklin S. Eggleston '32, secretary, and William H. Coleman Jr. '45, assistant secretary. Elected to the executive committee were: Sears '19, Holden '25, Thompson '28, Cruickshank '43, McMahon '43 and Zeiser '49.

Some of the hardier members braved the elements and enjoyed (?) a round of golf before drying out (??) at the Wheelock Tavern.

Dr. Arthur Ruggles '02, a former Trustee of the College, introduced President Dickey, who spoke on a few of the problems facing the College, and the world, today.

The Second Annual Outing of the Rhode Island Dartmouth Association took place July 8 at Mount Hope, in Bristol. Again the Haffenreffer family donated the use of their estate. More than 40 members and their wives, together with countless youngsters, spent a most enjoyable afternoon and evening, even though the sun did not cooperate fully. Cos McMahon '43 and Pulliam '45 furnished softball and horseshoes for the athletically inclined, while coke and 'gansett were enjoyed by all.

The monthly luncheon program will start in October. All alumni will be most welcome.
